Inspiring Monday

Today I want to share with you another embroidery hoop!

Untitled by Delightful Disarray

I love this piece because I love how she utilizes the negative space, the randomness of the french knots as they spread out from the heart, as well as the simplicity of the linen and single color of floss.  Proof positive that something small, simple, and sweet creates such lovely pieces!

Hopefully you are all on vacation today too, and can take this inspiration and run with it!  I am spending the day helping another member of the HMQG organize their fabric stash! FUN!

  1. This is so cute! I agree on the use of the negative space, I love it.

I think it would be neat too if the knots were made with more than one color though. Not different colors for the individual knots, but if you were to use two strands of red & one strand of pink (or two close colors of pink instead of red). The extra color wouldn't overwhelm it, but add a little extra depth to the color.

I may have to try something like this, thanks for sharing!

  2. This has nothing to do with your post, but I can't believe I wasn't following your blog already! Eeep! oversight! Thanks to Lisa (who we both nominated for a Leibster), I realized the error of my ways!
