ReplyDeleteMy best birthday memory happened yesterday, I am turning 30 on Saturday and as an early birthday present my husband just bought me a brand new sewing machine. I have been sewing on an older Janome Manual Electric for 9 years - it is a good machine but has NO bells and whistles - I mean it only has THREE decorative stitches! He bought me a Janome Horizon 7700 - needless to say that the 250 decorative stitches and three monogram fonts are a bit of an upgrade for me. He is the best!!! Happy birthday :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I am a follower too!
ReplyDeleteI would have to say; it was my 40th birthday; OMG; that was 18 years ago...getting way too old here...lol. Some girlfriends with their spouses had a surprise barbecue for me..all for me!! I was so totally surprised and delighted...hubby drove me there; thinking we were having supper with this couple. low and behold the deck was full of friends...was so much fun. Of course; I cried first, then had a few drinks, some great food,,laughs..never forget it...nothing like good friends and a great husband.....thank you for this opportunity Bry..and a very happy birthday to you....
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! And thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteAwww, happy birthday, Bry!!! I think my favorite birthday at the moment was my last birthday, my 30th. It was just a nice family kind of birthday, but it felt really special - hard to really pinpoint or explain why - but it's definitely one of my favorite birthdays. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I sure am a follower :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! My favorite bday memories are always of my dad singing the goofiest birthday songs ever. He always put a smile on my face :)
ReplyDeleteOh, that would be my 40th, but not for the number!Hubbie surprised me with tickets to New York, a hotel and tickets to a musical. I couldn't believe he'd done all that without keying me in on it at all.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday gift was my 50th when hubby gave me(paid for) my Bernina 44QE. I actually ordered it, but he paid for it...Like I would have him pick out a sewing machine...snort. I told him it was that or a car. Good choice. :)
ReplyDeleteHBD Bry! Your so sweet, ur bd and the gift is for us! :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday party? It was 18 years ago when I turned 40 years old. I was (and still am) a pretty crazy gal. The guy I was dating was an awesome guy, and had such a wonderful sense of humor. So for my birthday, he had a male stripper come to my office. (Well, naturally he didn't strip ALL the way!) My boyfriend knew what I thought was "sexy" and had the guy in a tuxedo and top hat. Man oh man. I still have those pictures today. Ha! Except now I'm not looking at that stud muffin that came to dance for me, I'm looking at how young and skinny I was 18 years ago. Wow, gotta go on that diet I keep talking about. And exercising. Hmm...guess I need to go get me a Coca-Cola and a candy bar. I'm hallucinating about exercising!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was at the beginning of our 20 year marriage when my husband surprised me diamond earrings.

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I'm having trouble coming up with a favorite birthday memory, but I shouldn't as I have been accused of being a birthday princess on more than one occasion. My birthday is a week and a half away and I've been thinking about what I would like for it to be a perfect day--I think that would involve sun, water, drinks, good food and good friends. Oh! Last year my spouse and mother combined forces to buy me a new sewing machine. That is definitely one of the best gifts I've gotten in awhile.
ReplyDeleteI'm also a follower ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete(and i'm a follower, too)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to you! So young... I spent my 30th birthday in New York City. I'd recently split up with my boyfriend so went with my brother instead and had the most amazing week. It was our third time in NYC, so we got to see more than the usual tourist attractions. I love that city. Our first visit to NYC was for my mum's 50th birthday. My dad didn't tell her where she was going and they went to NYC via Chicago. On her actual birthday my brother and me were waiting for her in Central Park. She had no idea! Fantastic...

ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to this year's birthday, as I'm hopefully going to be visiting India for a wedding, and can't begin to tell you just how exciting that is to me.
Happy birthday! Thanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! What a fabulous giveaway, thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteBest birthday memory is a toss up. My husband and I were actually married on my 25th birthday, so that was a pretty special one! In 2005 we went on a Carribean cruise, so I spent my 50th birthday snorkeling in with multitudes of tropical fish!
ReplyDelete...and I am a follower.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteThe first memory that pops into my head isn't actually for my birthday, but for my half-birthday. One year I was making such a big deal about it, my mom actually went out & got one of those log ice cream cakes (essentially half an ice cream cake) & put candles in it and everything. I honestly can't remember if there were any other gifts, I don't think so, but it was certainly a fun surprise!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. My favorite birthday was when I was 8 or so. We didn't do birthday parties very often and this one was a SURPRISE!

ReplyDeleteI don't usually have a big fuss on my birthday but my (big) kids don't let me forget the year my sister visited. We rarely get together in person due to distance but this year she happen to be visiting on my birthday and a bottle of bubbly was opened. I rarely ever drink so my kids were very surprised at the sight of me with a wine glass and are convinced that I had had more than enough (after about half a glass). They could be right! We all had a VERY good time.
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy b-day. I just had mine last week. I too had a giveaway. I loved sharing for my b-day and all the great wishes I got this year from all the bloggy people. I hope you have a wonderful day and I hope that you get just what you want :)

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! My best birthday memory was when we were at Disneyland on my birthday and Bert and Mary Poppins sang happy birthday to me while another guy played on their rolling piano. Very magical!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Bryanna! I can't think of a specific memory, but I am sure it involved food :)
ReplyDeleteand I follow your blog as well!
ReplyDeleteBest birthday ever was probably my 40th. We went with friends to spend the weekend in Milwaukee. The best parts were going to the Badger Hockey Showcase AND getting paid to STOP playing the piano and singing in the hotel bar.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy following your blog.
My fave birthday memory was probably when I was a kid and I'd begged my mum to NOT have a clown at the party. So she hired my fave acting group and they put on Rumpelstiltskin :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to win the fabric and book. I have loved the cover quilt since seeing it online on blogs.
ReplyDeleteBirthday memories - mine is my 30th (despite feeling exhausted having just had my first baby) my husband bought me 30 gifts, one of which was a beautiful ring with 9 diamonds set in it, another was a trip to Paris (which we did when the baby was a bit older so we could enjoy!)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great celebration.
Thanks for the giveaway

My best birthday was when almost everyone (friends and family) forgot to call me and wish me happy birthday so my hubby went out and bought me an iPod! This was when iPods were still fairly new to the market so it was an awesome gift that made me feel so much better. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway girl!!! You know I follow you!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you! I had a great birthday a few days ago. We went out for lunch with friends and had a great time. One of the guys even bought a bottle of champagne for a toast!

ReplyDeleteFavorite birthday memory is the year my mom made me a chocolate chip cheesecake (my favorite), and it lasted, and lasted, and lasted... for what seemed like forever. Homemade deliciousness! It's a Hoot is one of my favorite lines. :) Happy 28th! We're about the same age

ReplyDeleteYou had me at 'it's a hoot' what a lovely lovely line! Happy Birthday. It's so fun to see where people celebrate or not on their blogs.
ReplyDeleteI am SO a follower. It's fun following you my dear.
ReplyDeleteOh, I just want to hold this book in my hands!!! Last year's birthday was really great - a lovely September day spent with friends and a long bike ride with my kids and husband along a beautiful river trail. Simple and lovely. Best to you!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday - 28 on the 28th is special!
ReplyDeleteLast year was my favorite birthday - even though it wasn't my b'day party, my brother had a hayride/Halloween party for friends and little kids last year on my b'day. It was so very much fun. I love to get the "littles" howling when they come across the field to get their candy and apples at our house.
I follow your blog now (if blogger can be believed as is giving me problems). Happy Birthday. I've wanted the log cabin book as would like to make my first log cabin. And, what better fabric to use than your jelly roll! Thanks for the great giveaway. Happy Birthday today!
ReplyDeletePick me! Pick me! Pick me!
ReplyDeletewhat a great giveaway!! my best birthday was when i think i turned 28 and my husband made me a ladybug cake. it was the sweetest thing ever. he wanted no help from me or my sister who was visiting. and it was perfect...right down to the yummy chocolate ganache!!!

ReplyDeleteFor my 20th birthday my family threw me a surprise party and I crashed it. My sister was supposed to come pick me up to "eat dinner" at our parents house. Well she was taking her time and I was getting bored at my place so when she didn't answer her phone I decided to drive myself over. I walked into the house and was so confused "why are all these people here?" Everyone else was just as confused wondering why I was there early. Ooops! I still blame my sister :)

ReplyDeleteMy most interesting birthday memory was when I was turning 24yrs old. Just married my husband less then 7 weeks ago. 2 friends of my husband came over to play cards which we were doing. The 2 friends had set up a Birthday/Welcome to your new home party and about 40 people were outside lying in my yard out in the country. All at once a loud whooping and hollering went on all around the house and banging on the outside walls and shot guns were fired into the air. I was completely shocked and freaked out!! It was a complete surprise and did we end up having a great time with everyone! They brought food and beverages too!
ReplyDeleteand am now a follower!!
ReplyDelete28 on the 28th-that is fun! Happy Birthday!!! One of my favorite birthday moments would actually be my little brothers 8th birthday party when he requested a sponge bob square pants cake that said "Stay Cool Kids." Funny litte guy! Any big plans for your big day?
ReplyDeleteI am a follower :)! Thanks for a wonderful giveaway!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm 28 too - good age :) Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteMy birthday is 4 days before my wedding anniversary. My favorite birthday memory was definitely the year I got married - everyone from both our families was gathered from all around the world, so although the birthday itself was nothing fancy, it was really special just having everyone together :)

ReplyDeleteMy funniest birthday story...hmmm my husband and my best friends and my hubby tried planning me a surprise 30th birthday party/ surprise baby shower for 3 weeks in a row. I was born in January and last January for us was a big snow month for us. My friends made it half way to my house (1.5 drive) and had to turn around because it got to slick with ice, the next week they made it 15 minutes away and couldn't get to my street, and the third week they gave up before they left home. Needless to say I had delivered our second baby girl in March before the surprise was revealed, but it was wonderful to celebrate a special occasion with friends, even if it was 2 months late. I hope you have better birthday wishes!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite birthday was my 30th. I turned it into a 3 day event- a movie on one night, dinner on another and a party on the third. It made turning 30 so much more fun.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday memory is silly. We always got to pick a place to go out to eat when we were kids if it was our birthday. Eating out was a very big deal - we didn't have a lot of money. Being able to pick the place was a really special event. I always picked Shakey's Pizza. I don't remember going there any other time.

ReplyDeleteLove that Momo. This might seem like a downer, but really, it isn't. This last birthday was my first since my husband separated from me. I turned 45 and my daughters made sure to take me out for a quiet girls' night. It was very sweet and a day I won't forget.
ReplyDelete...and I follow your every post on my Bloglovin. I'd hate to miss one, thanks!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! My favorite birthday memory was at a craft show in Ohio. It was a total surprise! As my sweetie approached with a gorgeous cake, there was a steady stream of craftspeople coming from the other booths, and everyone sang "Happy birthday!" Very memorable!

ReplyDeleteMy fav b-day memory is the yr I turned 25, 2005. All I wanted was to be a mommie. Well my little 'a' was born Nov 2nd of that yr. Best b-day gift I've ever got, she made me a mommie. Thanks for sharing a fun jelly roll and a fab looking book :)
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU !!!!!!!
I can't believe I wasn't a follower already! Happy Birthday! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, it's not a "best" birthday memory, but I do remember one year when I was younger I got a birthday present from a wasp. 2 stings right in the knee! It swelled up really big & we had to move the party inside so that no one else would get stung.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Happy Birthday & thanks for the awesome giveaway! :)
Happy Birthday! I have two memorable birthdays--both were surprise parties held by my friends--one when I was 13 and the other when I turned 50! I was totally surprised at each one.

My best birthday memory ever was when I turned 6 or 7. My mom hired someone to make me a princess cake, you know the ones where the dress is the cake and has a doll inside? It was magical. I still remember it with so much fondness.

ReplyDeleteI don't know if I would call it my best birthday, but, I spent my 6th birthday in hospital after having my tonsils out and some of the nurses made me a jello/ice cream sunday and gave me a new kids baking set. Certainly brightened my day..lol
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I hope yours was better than mine will be - we're moving that whole week :( I've had my eye on this book, and that jelly roll is fabulous. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm already a follower :)
ReplyDeleteBest bday memory is when I had my maybe 11th birthday. My mom always made our cakes and we didn't have a ton of money. I was having a party at my house and my sisters said that mom forgot to make a cake. I remember by calm about that and said I could make cupcakes as a party game. Then they suprised me with a Cabbage Patch Kids cake they ordered from this lady. I can't remember ever being so happy.
ReplyDeleteSo many birthday memories! My fave is my brother's 16th (or was it 18th?) birthday. My parents rented a helium tank and my mom and I spent hours (or what felt like it) blowing up many many balloons to fill his ceiling with. Early in the morning. I remember sneaking the balloons in and he was so grumpy that I woke him up but you could tell he felt really special that we'd done something so over the top :)

ReplyDeleteMy birthday falls around Thanksgiving and so generally there is a cake for me at the big dinner, well there used to be. My grandmother, when she was alive would see to it. One year as she was handing it to me (on one open hand) I couldn't resist and I smacked the bottom of her hand. This must have been the driest cake ever! When I hit her hand this cake exploded into what seemed like a million pieces. She became furious. Let me say that food fights were the norm in my parent's house but apparently not in my grandmother's house. We still laugh about that every year at thanksgiving (but I no longer get a b-day cake).
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was my 25th when my boyfriend threw me a surprise party. I couldn't believe he had kept it a secret all that time! Thanks for hosting the giveaway and Happy Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteI'm also a follower and really enjoy your blog. :)
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday was when my husband gave me 2 Red Poll cows!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, thanks so much for the awesome giveaway! A birthday memory... my senior year of high school it snowed a foot on my birthday and school was cancelled (in March! gotta love Boston). But I was kind of sad b/c I missed out on having a birthday celebration with my friends at school... but the snow day was fun too.
ReplyDeleteMy best was probably my 50th as my husband and sister threw a surprise party for me and I had all my friends there for a bbq, we had such a fun time. I got a Bernina sewing machine from my husband and daughter.

ReplyDeleteMost memorable birthday was my 16th. We had just moved to town, were living in a hotel while our house was being finished. I knew no one so we celebrated with in the unfinished new house sitting on lawn chairs amidst the unfinished walls. The only guests were friends of my parents. Not so much fun but memorable. My 50th is just around the corner. Hoping to make much better memories this time.
ReplyDeleteI dont really have a birthday that stands out to me. I do remember my 16th birthday because my boyfriend at the time was out all night with some other girl. Ya! He was quickly dumped. LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you!!!!

ReplyDeleteFor my birthday, my then boyfriend, flew all the way to my home country of Kenya (having never traveled internationally before), met my parents, asked them for my hand and proposed to me on my birthday. It was the best birthday ever! Of course, I said yes and we've now been married 2 years!
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, I also share a birthday with my mom. =) she said it was her best present ever because she got to sleep afterward, haha.
Also, I'm a follower! love your posts!
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday was my most recent one. I turned 52 in February. I've been fighting breast cancer for the last year. My wonderful husband asked the wonderful people at Walgreen's to program "Happy Birthday Ginger" on the sign. I didn't know it and he took me over there to surprise me with it. Well the surprise was on both of us because in addition to the HB they added another line, "Keep Fighting, You Rock!!!" to it. You have no idea how much that meant to me. Best. Birthday. Ever.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower too,
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed birthday!!!
Happy Birthday to you! 10 years ago 3 generations of ladies in our family took a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate our birthdays. My grandmother took a nasty fall in one of the casinos and the security team promptly snagged us up and put us out in the alley. Can you imagine?!?!? A few years ago my parents, my brother's family and I got together for a birthday cruise (we're all summer babies) and we nearly wiped out all the ladies (myself included) when we got caught in a rip tide. (Word of advice ... follow the direction of the bubbles and when you resurface walk to the side to get out of the rip tide, not forward.) This year my mother and I are going on a cruise to celebrate our 50th and 70th birthdays. I've noticed something. Our trips are including fewer and fewer people. Ha! But really. What could possibly go wrong on a snorkeling adventure with a clutzy 50 year old and 70 year old who sinks like a rock and has never snorkeled?
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower. Looking forward to your updates.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI feel a bit old reading your post, but my favorite birthday (long, long ago) was turning 30 - I figured I could finally act my age, and people would take me more seriously in my 30s. Ha! sort of true looking back.
My favorite birthday was when I turned 8. My mother and sister threw a party for me after school. As I walked home that day, a bully started harassing me. I told him that nothing he said could ruin the day because I was about to celebrate my birthday with my friends! Later, during my party, I remember all the kids laughing when I almost pinned "the donkey's tail" onto the nose of a friend! When my sister lifted my blindfold, I couldn't stop laughing when I saw my friend still leaning backward from the waist up after I'd unknowingly approached his nose with the pointed end of a straight pin punched through a paper tail!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a very happy birthday!

ReplyDeleteOne year, eons again I said I wanted a surprise party. So my dear Mother tried to accommodate me. Unfortunately, she had to be to a meeting until just before dinner so she left a note on the dining room table saying this was a surprise party and friends would be arriving at 5:30. It was a little awkward when I answered the door for my guests. They all tried to hide their presents. It was a fun party and I'm still so impressed that my Mom would go to so much trouble.
ReplyDeleteHappy Day of your Birth!
ReplyDeleteThe best gift so far has been Phantom of the Opera tickets. SO amazing and fun.
Well, I just had a birthday on Saturday, and I'm still celebrating on the 4th! Lots of fireworks! :) My three children went in together and ordered me a Barn Quilt for my garden shed....it's been on my list to save up for since forever! I can't wait until it arrives. So this birthday has been memorable. Thanks for the chance to win some gorgeous Hoot fabric!

ReplyDeleteMy best birthday present EVER was on my 27th (or was it 28?!) bday, I received a new Janome sewing machine from my husband and all my family... such a great surprise! :-) Happy Birthday to you!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a generous giveaway!

ReplyDeleteBest birthday? I loved my 21st birthday. I had lived in London for a year and just returned home to California. Being of drinking age wasn't a big deal, because legal age in UK was 18. But what WAS a big deal was CDs! Yes indeed, the first thing I did for my birthday was go buy a CD player for my party that night, and then splurged on like 12 CDs -- all my favorite albums. I was so cutting edge and that party was so fun!!! No more tapes and records!
ReplyDeleteNice idea! giving stuff away on your birthday! All birthdays have been pretty good... but my worst birthday was my 22nd. It was supposed to be my lucky birthday (May 22nd) but it was nothing but work and everything went wrong. Bad memory.
ReplyDeleteI'm following too.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Wow, 28!!! I can't even remember my 28th bday (and I'm only 36)!!! Have a great day & don't celebrate too hard otherwise, you may not remember it in years to come either!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday memory comes from when I turned 8. I remember waking up and my dad telling me I could open one present. I was looking at my gift - a giant coloring book - when he told me that my mom had given birth to our new baby the day before and she'd be bringing my new baby brother home that day (my birthday). I remember him saying, "A new baby brother! Isn't that a wonderful birthday present?" I burst into tears... I had been so sure that I was getting a baby sister and didn't want another brother (I already had two of them!).
ReplyDeleteOf course, my baby brother came home from the hospital that day and I couldn't help but love him. As it turns out, we've always been close despite our rocky start! ;)

ReplyDeleteI seem to have a mental block when it comes to birthdays I can't even remember what I did this year for my birthday! I always remember my anniversery but that is because we are always at the Sturgis motorcycle rally for that! I have really been wanting this book thanks so much for having the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! My best birthday memory would probably be my last birthday because it was the first with my baby. Seeing his smiling face while daddy made me pancakes :)

ReplyDeleteOn my 21st birthday, my mom and her sister took me to the horse races. We had a fun time and the evening ended with my mom winning a trip to California, which was so exciting. She lived all her life in PA and at that time had never flown or travelled much. Cool!
ReplyDeleteI signed up to follow your blog!
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday memory is the year I was 18 and had my first birthday cake: The reason - my birthday is Christmas Day and it just got lost in other celebrations - but Mum thought that 18 was too important a number to let go past!
ReplyDeleteJust become a new follower. Thanks for the chance :)
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday memory was when I was twelve years old. My request was for a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting with the singer James Brown on top-okay now you can laugh:-) I did get everything expect the James Brown topper: apparently not a cake topper favorite. Instead I did get an Elvis Presley cake topper which was okay by me.

ReplyDeleteOn of my favorite memories was my girlfriend's birthday and she arranged a dinner so I could meet her new fiance and "approve" of him. He was nervous and so was I but we instantly became the best of friends.
ReplyDeleteBreezy Happy Birthday to you! Last year my brother conincidentally hosted a Halloween cook out / party/ hayride on my B'Day -- all the kids were littles. When they came to our house on the hayride for candy and apples, we got them yelling and howling. They left (across the field) having noisy fun. That's the best B'Day I've had - lots of fun, laughter, and smiles.
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog. Happy B'Day!
